Catholics for Choice publishes Conscience Magazine, a quarterly journal on reproductive rights, religion, and ethics. I designed the Fall 2024 issue, a 20-page publication that covers Catholic perspectives on reproductive justice, conscience rights, and social teaching.
Conscience has a distinct audience: readers who take both their faith and their politics seriously. The design has to hold that tension without flattening it. The magazine engages theological arguments and policy analysis in the same pages, so the layout needs enough structure to guide readers through complex material and enough warmth to feel like a publication you’d actually pick up.
The Fall 2024 issue covers conscience rights in healthcare, the legacy of Catholic feminist theology, and reproductive justice as a framework. Typography, color, and image selection work together to give each piece its own weight while keeping the issue coherent as a whole.
